FitMeter

Methodology and confidence

How every number on FitMeter is produced.

Measurement types

FitMeter does not measure shoes itself. We use data from the two source types below.

  • Third-party measurement: Interior length and width measured by an independent shoe review site. Each model page links to the original source.
  • Official guide: Values based on the brand's official size guide.

Confidence ratings

Ratings are high, medium, or low depending on the source type.

  • HighBased on the brand's official guide
  • MediumBased on one third-party measurement
  • LowWeakly supported estimate. Use as a reference only

How we calculate

We subtract the target model's correction from your foot length and pick the label size closest to that value. Ties go to the larger size. If you pick only a brand, we use the average correction of that brand's models.

Limitations

All data refers to a 270mm label size, and the same model can vary by production run, gender, and size. Feet and preferences differ too. The recommendation is a reference to help you decide.
